2019 Recap

Apparel Sourcing Week, India, conceived by Apparel Resources, the publishers of Apparel Online conducted the first edition of the show in March 2019. 30 top apparel manufacturers from Bangladesh, India and Hong Kong exhibited their latest collection under 12 product categories. Over 3000 visitors, including sourcing teams from 500 retailers and brands thronged the corridors over the two-day period. The show also witnessed visitation of over 500 International buyers through their regional offices and buying houses. The success of ASW 19 indicates a great future for the concept as a sourcing fair that brings together manufacturers from Asia and retailers/ brands from across the world on to one comprehensive sourcing platform.

The expo witnessed top manufacturers from Asia showcasing their product capabilities ranging from T-shirts, Bottoms, Lingerie, Outerwear etc. for the Indian & International retail market over a period of 2 days.

Interactive Sessions

40+ industry experts from fashion, retail, manufacturing, technology and logistics debated and discussed topics that are and will impact the retail industry over the next few years in a series of 10 workshops, panel discussions & open house sessions.

Networking Evening

The Invite Only Networking Evening was a very well attended affair where over 50 top CXOs from the retail industry interacted and enjoyed a relaxed evening with special industry invitees and exhibitors over drinks, dinner and some engagement activities.

Requirements of Sourcing for Indian Retail by Myntra Jabong India

Myntra operates as a standalone brand under Flipkart ownership, focusing primarily on "fashion-conscious" consumers. By 2014, when Flipkart acquired Myntra, its portfolio included about 1,50,000 products of over 1000 brands, with a distribution area of around 9000 pincodes in India. The online giant has exlusive sourcing rights for many of the brands on its platform including celebrity brand HRX. In September 2017, Myntra negotiated the rights to manage Esprit Holdings's 15 offline stores in India. Myntra reported a net loss of ₹151.20 crore in in the financial year 2017-18.
